Although born in Southern California I’ve long been fascinated by the Last Frontier and finally moved to Alaska in 1993, after earning an underwater welding certification. Oil Field work in Kenai didn’t pan out for me so I moved to Anchorage and fell in love with the city. I became a flight instructor and moved to Bethel in 2001 to open a flight school with a friend and a Cessna 150. There I met my wife.
I flew briefly for small airlines out of Anchorage, Kotzebue, King Salmon and back to Bethel where we lived for over 10 years. While there I finished my degree in History and became a substitute teacher and librarian. I’m very happy to be back in Anchorage where I can indulge my hobbies of running and biking. I’m also a fan of chess and video games. I’m very excited to be starting as your librarian and look forward to meeting each of you.
