Born and raised in sunny southern California, I graduated from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in 2008. I went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in both U.S. History and Art History at the University of California, Irvine. Following my passion for history, I enrolled at California State University, Fullerton and received a Master of Arts in Public History. After earning my M.A., I moved to Anchorage to join my husband in experiencing the “Last Frontier.”
This is my third year teaching at Lumen Christi Catholic High School. Growing up in a family of educators, education has much to do with who I am as a person. While teaching at Lumen Christi, I hope to inspire my students to find new ways to make education exciting. All students are blessed with individual talents, and I will strive to help them harness those talents during these formative years. I expect rigorous effort, diligent preparation, as well as a sense of humor from both my students, and myself while learning in the classroom.
When I have spare time, I enjoy swimming or curling up in a comfortable chair with a good book. If given the chance, I will hop on a plane to California to soak in the rays of sunshine, spend time at the beach, and visit with my beloved family. I am a huge lover of animals and relish spending time at the Alaska Zoo or at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. My husband and I currently care for our own animal, our adopted puppy, Trigg. This past summer we welcomed our first child, Zoey into our family! Our family enjoys driving around Alaska, fishing in Seward, and traveling to new destinations!
I look forward to an exciting and successful year with my students!
