Sophia went to the State championships last year, and Juan is an new international student from Venezuela.
While our varsity soccer team did not place in the Tri-Valley Tournament in Healy last week, our student athletes played hard against the other teams and bonded together while on the road trip. Our junior high soccer team continues to do very well, earning a win over Anchor Lutheran School on Monday.
It has been a great Spirit Week, with most of the school wearing Wild West garb on Monday and Red, White, and Blue Americana on Tuesday. And I can’t wait to see what Career Day on Friday brings!
Please consider signing up to help us out at the St. Benedict’s Festival of Ministries this weekend. We also hope you will keep our students in your prayers (and come out and cheer) as our soccer teams compete on Thursday and Friday and our students enjoy a Homecoming Bonfire on Friday and Dance on Saturday.
Our all High School Retreat is Sept 20th & 21st at St. Therese’s Camp in Wasilla. We are still in need of two parent volunteers to prepare meals for Friday. Contact Mrs. Loeffler at 803-497-4457 or email@example.com if you can help.
Please send in permission slips for next week’s retreat!! Students were given copies last week and an electronic copy went home; if a new form is needed please have your son or daughter see Mrs. Loeffler!

Junior High Retreat
The junior high will have an in-school retreat next Thursday and Friday 9/20-21. Students are expected to arrive to school at the normal 7:45 start time, but can dress in jeans and Lumen wear. Thursday will be a normal pick up time at 2:30 and Friday pick up will be late, approximately 2pm.
Students will participate in a variety of in school service projects, including making birthday bags for kids at Clare house, writing letters to vets and helping clean up Jewel Lake Rd. Students will also receive a pizza lunch Thursday before having a group bowl at Jewel Lake Bowl. Friday students will travel to the Anchorage Cemetery to help with landscaping before they walk to the museum for several educational programs. Please pack a lunch for your child on Friday as well as send any rakes or landscaping tools that may help with cemetery clean up.
We will bill your account $30 per junior high student to cover costs of the rental vans, lunch, museum and service activities. You may also send your child with spending money for the museum or snacks at bowling. Mrs. Craig is also looking for parent volunteers/chaperones to assist with the museum and cemetery clean up. Please contact Mrs. Craig directly to volunteer on Friday or with any additional questions: email@example.com. Thank you!
